Tahbaz Puts on 9-Point Show in Senior Game Victory

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - October 9, 2021 -  Chatham Men's Soccer hosted Washington and Jefferson today in a conference matchup for their senior game. The Cougars earned their first win against W&J in program history, and did so in convincing fashion.

The Presidents put up a good first for the first 30 minutes, but senior Ryan Tahbaz would soon break the stalemate with his first goal of the night thanks to a setup by sophomore Charles Archer.

First-year Xander Pinto would be the next Cougar to get on the board at the 42' mark. His insurance goal was also the first of his collegiate career, which he adds to a previous assist. Tahbaz was credited with the assist on Pinto's goal.

The Cougar momentum could not stop, as less than a minute later Tahbaz struck again, this time capitalizing off of a feed from classmate Franco Ibanez.

Just minutes into the second half, Tahbaz's third goal would give him just the second hat trick in program history. As if that were not impressive enough, he scored yet again for his fourth goal of the evening, taking him to a record nine points. Junior Marco Piccolo assisted on both of Tahbaz' second-half goals.

First-year Trevor Rose recorded his second shutout of the week with five saves. Both President goalkeepers combined for just four.

With the win, Chatham improves to 6-4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference. Their next match is Tuesday, October 12th at Geneva College.
