Harvey Scores Twice in Regular Season Finale

GREENVILLE, Pa. – October 27, 2021 – The Chatham women's soccer team got a two-goal performance by junior Emily Harvey as the Cougars won easily 2-0 over Thiel. The win wraps up Chatham's regular season at 9-5-1 and 7-2 in conference play.

The Cougars controlled the entirety of the first half, shooting the ball 14 times while a stingy defense did not allow a Tomcat shot. Harvey scored the first of two in the 7th minute after junior Maggie Toomey fed her the ball. The score stood at 1-0 at half.

Harvey notched her second in the 57th minute after Chatham roped four shots at the goalie mouth in the span of a minute and a half, with junior Greta Mort getting back to Harvey for the second and final tally. Thiel got off three shots in the second half, all of which were successfully stopped.

Junior Tyler Colburn and senior Emily Martz proved to be the ironwomen for the Cougars yet again, playing all 90 minutes. The Cougars outshot the Tomcats 23-3 for the match and 14-1 on goal. Harvey led all players with four shots, graduate Kyla Kelley had three shots on goal, senior Morgan Anderson, sophomore Malia hinton and junior Cassidy Martin all had a pair of shots on goal while Toomey had the final shot on net.

The Cougars now turn their attention to the first round of the PAC playoffs, which begins on Saturday.
