PITTSBURGH, Pa. – October 23, 2021 – The Chatham swimming teams were back in action at the Sigo Falk Natatorium on Saturday against Penn State Altoona, splitting the meet with the Lions. The women were victorious 124-78 while the men fell 115-52.
Both the men and the women started the meet strongly with victories in both the 200-yard medley relays. First-years

Amy Jarvis and sophomore
Abigail Glasspool had a healthy win with a final time of 2:00.69 with Jarvis recording the fastest leg at 26.37. For the men, it was a narrow victory thanks to the speedy effort of sophomore
Karl Gangloff, who rounded out the quartet of classmate
Avery Filey, first-year
Hunter Holcomb and junior
Nathan Kerchensky. Gangloff went on to finish the 1,000-yard freestyle at 10:39.19 as he was the only competitor for the event.
Jarvis continued her winning ways in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 2:05.92 to lead the pack. Cisco followed up with a first-place 25.71 showing in the 50-yard freestyle. First-year
Ali Cowan also improved her scores in the one-meter and three-meter diving portions of the event.
Glasspool had the most exciting victory of the day, going neck-and-neck with a Penn State Altoona swimmer in the 100-yard butterfly. She narrowly squeaked out a 1:06.93 victory in the event, just .03 seconds ahead of second place. Jarvis also had an exciting 100-yard freestyle victory with a final time of 56.42. Cisco went on to win the 100-yard backstroke as well with a final time of 1:01.94.
The Cougars swept the 500-yard freestyle with Gangloff winning his third individual event of the day in convincing fashion at 5:09.42. Junior
Carlee Shreve stroked her way to a 500-yard freestyle victory at 5:53.73. The final first place finish belonged to Ray in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event with a time of 1:18.47.
Chatham closes its three-meet home stretch to begin the campaign on Friday, October 29 with a home affair with Penn State Behrend beginning at 6:00.
