Women’s Soccer Drops Hard-Fought Battle with Westminster

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – October 20, 2021 – The Chatham women's soccer team faced a tall task in undefeated Westminster on Wednesday night, falling to the Titans 2-0. The loss drops Chatham to 7-5-1 overall and 5-2 in PAC play.

The Cougars had to play from behind starting in the 10th minute of action when a Westminster corner kick led to the first and only goal of the first half. The Titans got off five shots on goal in the first half, four of which were stopped by junior goalkeeper Tyler Colburn.

In the second half, Chatham ended up getting more defensive by allowing just three shots. Unfortunately, one of those shots ended up being a breakaway that led to the second tally of the night. Chatham fired two shots on goal in the latter stages of the game but nothing more.

For the match, Chatham was outshot 12-6 including 7-4 on goal. The Cougars also committed nine fouls compared to Westminster's five. Colburn, junior Emily Harvey and senior Emily Martz played all 90 minutes in the field. The shots on goal were taken by Harvey, Martz, junior Greta Mort and sophomore Malia Hinton.

Chatham has a crucial road game on Saturday, October 23 at Franciscan beginning at 1:00.
