Cougars Collect Season’s 13th Win at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. - October 12, 2021 - Chatham Volleyball traveled to Washington and Jefferson this evening for a PAC matchup. The Cougars were ultimately successful, finishing with a 3-1 win. Chatham now stands at 13-4 overall, 8-2 in conference.

Sets one and two were the closest in score, with Chatham coming out on top of both. Chatham had several multi-point rallies thanks to the offensive work of senior Emily Richie, junior Rylee Ritko, and first-year Kaley Davis. Junior Shaelah Pepperman would be credited with assists on almost every kill, and sophomore Baileigh Horan tallied multiple blocks.

Set three was taken by W&J, who got an early lead in the set. However, the Cougars were ready to bounce back by set four on all fronts, quickly hitting the 25-point mark while limiting the Presidents to just 12 points.

Emily Richie was in control at the net, ending the game with 21 kills. Rylee Ritko added another 16, with Kaley Davis and Paige Bogozi contributing another eight and give respectively.

Shaelah Pepperman assisted on 43 of Chatham's 56 kills while adding 26 digs. Meghan Dominek had her usual strong defensive showing with 17 digs while Amelia Bogovich and Paige Bogozi joined forces for another 25.

Chatham's strategic serving was in full effect tonight, resulting in eight aces. Pepperman, Ritko, and Dominek each had two, while Bogovich and Adriana Conforti secured one each.

The Cougars are back in PAC action on Thursday, October 14th when they host Bethany at 7 PM.
