Getting to Know Baseball Senior George Cedeno

March 25, 2020 - Baseball senior George Cedeno a native of Brooklyn, New York now resides in New Jersey. Cedeno wanted to complete his final season as a Cougar. He's the youngest of five, two brothers and two sisters. His older brother played baseball and football and his sister played high school softball. 

Cedeno chose to come to Chatham and finish his final year by saying, "it's a good program and I wanted to see if we could develop a team and start from there. It's about underdog mentality". He has been playing baseball since he was four years old, his dad played as well. Cedeno said, "baseball is all that i have ever known". 

When asked who his favorite athlete was, Cedeno mentioned Lebron James. Cedeno said, "Lebron takes care of himself and isn't in the media too much. He has earned everything he has accomplished". 

He has gotten many awards in baseball, ranging from MVP of different leagues and winning championships with a few different teams. "There is nothing better than winning that final game" Cedeno stated. 

One thing that people might not know about him is that he likes to cook and is pretty good at it! His mother taught him how to Spanish food such as beans, rice and chicken. 

"Take the game and appreciate it as much as you can, don't take the game for granted" Cedeno said.
