Construction to Begin at Chatham Eastside on Monday October 13th

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Thursday October 9th, Chatham University Vice President of Operations and Communications Bill Campbell and Senior Director of Facilities Management Mike Kuwaka announced that the construction at Chatham University Eastside will begin on Monday October 13th. The new construction at Eastside will include multiple updates for the athletics department.

The construction will eventually be home to the new Athletic Annex, first announced on February 10th. Located inside the Athletic Annex will be a new weight room for the athletic teams to utilize, locker rooms for multiple sports, indoor practice areas for baseball and softball and a new wrestling room for the newest Cougars sport which will be debuting in the 2026-27 school year. The project will also contain a new area for the Helath & Sports Performance Center which will hold the College of Health Sciences and the Athletic Training department. 

The demolition work that is being done to make room for the new amenities will begin on Monday October 13th and is planned to last for five weeks. The plan is to start the renovations in December or January with a projected opening next summer.
