VALENCIA, Pa. – Feb. 7, 2020 – The Chatham University Men's Hockey Team's comeback in the third period wasn't enough as they lost to Manhattanville Friday evening 5-2.
RECORDS: With the loss, Chatham falls to 3-17-0 (2-11-0 UCHC) while Manhattanville improves to 8-11-2 (5-8-1 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Neumann as they conclude weekend conference play Saturday, February 8th. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM.
SCORING SUMMARY: Manhattanville scored the first goal of the period on a power play.
The Valiants would score two more goals in the first period, leading 3-0 heading into the second period.
Manhattanville scored one goal in the second period. The Cougars were fighting to comeback from a 4-0 deficit.
More than halfway through the third period, Chatham answered thanks to
Eric Hildebrand.
Two minutes later the Valiants scored, leading 5-1.
The Cougars answered right back thanks to Hildebrand, assisted by
Michael Lamison and
Chris Lutz.
Chatham pulled their goalie with two minutes and thirty seconds remaining in the contest but couldn't find the back of the net.
Manhattanville secured the 5-2 victory.
GOALTENDING: Karl Zodda suffered the loss for the Cougars. Zodda recorded 21 saves, including 10 in the second period.
SHOTS LEADER: Hildebrand and
Niko Moulakelis led the Chatham attack with six shots on net.
FACE-OFFS: King won a team best 15 faceoffs.
