PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Feb. 22, 2020 - Chatham (15-9, 10-5) was back in action as they faced off against the Bearcats of Saint Vincent (12-12, 7-8). The Cougars were coming off a landslide win on the road against Geneva 90-73.
Both teams started off the match going back and forth with the score sitting at 23-16 after junior AJ Meyers drained a three pointer with 10:39 left in the half. Chatham would inch their way back into the game, leading by four points at half 43-39.
The two opponents stayed neck and neck with each other early in the second, as the score would remain 59-56 with 13:19 left in the game. Saint Vincent would put together a 8-0 run to put themselves in the lead 64-56 with 11:20 to go in the second. The Cougars and Bearcats would go back and forth in the final minutes of the contest, with Chatham coming out on top 92-87 for their 16th win of the season. This win would also bring them to 11 conference wins on the year.
Junior Malik Potter was the leading scorer for the Cougars with 24 points, and first-year Elijah Sutton added 20 of his own, shooting 7-11 from the field.
Chatham's faces Waynesburg in the PAC Championship Tournament on Tuesday, February 25th. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.
