PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Feb. 1, 2020 - The Cougars (11-7, 5-5) faced Washington and Jefferson (11-7, 6-4) in a matchup in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, February 1st. They were recently coming off a road win to Waynesburg on Wednesday, January 29th by a final score of 67-53.
The first quarter was a back and forth battle between both teams, with Chatham trailing the Presidents 13-10 with 4:19 to play in the quarter. The Cougars went on a 4-0 run with 2:36 left to go, falling behind by one 17-16 heading into the second quarter.
Both teams went back and forth, Chatham trailed by five with 2:18 to play in the half. The Cougars came within three with 00:59 seconds remaining in the half as Emily Ondo made a jumper. W&J led Chatham 33-28 at half.
With under six minutes to play in the third quarter, W&J went up four points with a free throw by Alie Seto. W&J went ahead by 11 points with a jumper from Lauren Gilbert.
The deciding quarter turned into W&J leading by as many as 18 with 1:21 left in the contest. Ondo would be the last to score in the game, a jumper with 00:24 seconds remaining, as the Presidents beat Chatham 66-53.
Ondo led the Chatham offense, scoring 17 and added eight rebounds. Riley D'Angelo added 12 points and was 4-8 from three point range.
Chatham continues home play as they face Grove City on Wednesday, February 5th in the Athletics and Fitness Center.
