NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Jan. 19, 2020– The Chatham University women's hockey team dropped their second contest of the weekend to Utica 5-1.
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 5-9-1 (1-5-1 UCHC) while Utica improves to 5-2-0 (5-9-0 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Elmira in a conference matchup on the road Saturday, January 25th. Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM.
SCORING SUMMARY: Utica scored the first goal of the contest leading Chatham 1-0 heading into the second period.
The Pioneers scored two goals in the beginning of the period, minutes apart from one another now leading 3-0.
Utica would score another goal in the second period, leading 4-0 at the end of the second period.
The Pioneers scored one minute into the third period.
The Cougars answered minutes later scoring their only goal of the contest, thanks to
Fiona Danahy assisted by
Ashley Marchant and
Grace Johnson.
Chatham couldn't find the back of the net as the Cougars tallied 11 shots on goal in the third period and fall to Utica 5-1.
GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan suffered the loss for the Cougars making 35 saves including 20 in the first period.
SHOTS LEADER: Kerry Carr led the Chatham attack with six shots on goal.
FACEOFFS: Sydney Collins won a team high 19 faceoffs.
