NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Jan. 18th, 2020– The Chatham University women's hockey team dropped their first contest of 2020 to Nazareth 8-1 Saturday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 5-8-1 (1-4-1 UCHC) while Nazareth improves to 11-2-1 (5-1-0 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham continues weekend play at home as they face Utica in a conference matchup Sunday, January 19th. Puck drop is set for 3:40 PM.
SCORING SUMMARY: Nazareth scored four goals in the first period. The Cougars were looking to come back from a four goal deficit.
Nazareth scored another goal in the beginning of the period before the Cougars answered thanks to
Holly Ackerman, assisted by
Maddie Black.
The Golden Flyers would score two more goals in the second period, leading Chatham 7-1 heading into the final period of regulation.
Nazareth would score one empty-net goal in the third period, securing the UCHC victory over the Cougars 8-1.
GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan suffered the loss for the Cougars making 29 saves including 17 in the first period and 12 in the second period.
SHOTS LEADER: Kerry Carr led the Chatham attack with three shots on goal.
