PITTSBURGH, PA - Sept. 21, 2019 - The Chatham University women's soccer team bested Oberlin in a 3-1 victory this afternoon.
FOR RECORD'S SAKE
Chatham entered the game with a 2-3-1 record after a tough loss to Mount Union last Wednesday. Comparatively, Oberlin was 2-4-1. In the 2018 season, Oberlin finished 6-10-2 with a 3-4-1 conference record in the NCAC.
THE GIST OF IT
Chatham scored first at the 30-minute mark thanks to an inside-the-box shot from
Morgan Anderson.
Olivia Wood had an outstanding performance against the Yeomen, scoring two goals in a row at the 45- and -69 minute marks. Oberlin scored their lone goal with eight minutes left in the game, falling short of beating the Cougars from behind.
SHARP SHOOTERS
First-year Olivia wood scored two goals (numbers two and three of the season), including the game-winner, to put the edge over Oberlin. Sophomore
Morgan Anderson scored the first goal of the game and third of the season to get the Cougars started. Anderson also led the shot charge with three, followed by
Olivia Wood,
Morgan Bryant, and Kyla Kelly with two each. The Cougars finished the game with 12 shots overall.

Chatham travels to Mount Aloysius to play the Mounties on Tuesday, September 24th at 6 PM. They return to Pittsburgh to play Waynesburg for The March on Saturday the 28th at 1 PM in the first PAC match-up of the year.
