PITTSBURGH, PA – April 3, 2019 – The Chatham University softball team struggled against Saint Vincent in the first two PAC matchups of the season, dropping both games, Game 1: 9-1 and Game 2: 4-3.

RECORDS: Chatham now stands at 6-12 (0-2 PAC) while Saint Vincent stands at 14-6 (2-0 PAC).
 
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars travel to Beaver Falls, PA on Saturday, April 6th for a PAC double-header matchup against Geneva starting at 1:00 pm.
 
GAME ONE (Chatham 1, Saint Vincent 9)
 
AT THE PLATE: The Cougar offense enjoyed five hits as first-year Alexis Butler finished with one hit.
 
Holly Ackerman drove in the lone run for the Cougars.
 
Sophomores Paige Shaftic and Kelsey Benjamin each went 1-for-2. 
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Junior Madison Howell tossed 3.2 innings, scattering four hits while striking out two Bearcats.

First-year Brandi Gidley pitched 0.2 innings, scattering four hits.   

GAME TWO (Chatham 3, Saint Vincent 4)
 
AT THE PLATE: Chatham tallied 12 hits. Swedberg went 2-for-3 at the plate while junior Marissa Wightman went 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in two runs.
 
Lead-off hitter Caitlin Worwood went 3-for-4, driving in two runs. First-year Alyson Adams drove in one run.
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Sophomore Julie Swedberg pitched 6 innings, striking out one and giving up four runs.
