PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 19th, 2019 – The Chatham University baseball team go 0-2 Saturday afternoon in a PAC double-header matchup against Bethany. The Cougars lost the first game by a close score of 4-3 and lost the second game 7-4.
RECORDS: Chatham falls to 4-26 overall, 1-17 PAC. The Bison improve to 21-11, 11-8 PAC.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars face Geneva Friday, April 26th at West Field in a PAC matchup. Game starts at 4:00 p.m.
GAME ONE (Bethany 4, Chatham 3)
AT THE PLATE: Senior
Paul Nussbaum went 2-for-5 at the plate, scoring one run for the Cougars. Sophomore
Ryan Shawley went 1-for-3 at the plate.
First-year
Michael Nizinski went 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring one run and adding one RBI.
Traynor Granatire added one RBI for the Cougars.
ON THE MOUND: Adam Cerar suffered the loss for the Cougars, pitching 4.0 innings, giving up three hits and striking out five.
Austin Andonisio came in to pitch for relief.
GAME TWO (Bethany 7, Chatham 4)
AT THE PLATE: Nussbaum
went 1-for-3 at the plate, scoring one run for the Cougars.
Hunter Swartz went 3-for-3 at the plate, scoring one run and adding one RBI.
Nizinski added one run and two RBIs for the Cougars.
Tanner Klein went 2-for-4 at the plate, adding one RBI.
