Box Score 4 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - This week the Chatham University baseball team started the 2019 season with a spring training trip down to Myrtle Beach. The Cougars finished the week 3-5 overall. Up next, Chatham takes on Pitt Greensburg on March 16th.
The week began with a split against the College of Staten Island. The Cougars took a 7-5 win in the first game.
Caleb Lehman led the team with three hits, including one triple. Jon Scarsella went 2-of-3 at the plate, registering two hits and two RBI.
Connor Paul pitched four innings for the team, recording three strikeouts. In the second game, Chatham lost a 14-6 decision to the Dolphins. The game was highlighted by a
Tanner Klein homerun.
Next up, the Cougars would split with Eastern University. Chatham lost a tough one 17-3 in the first game.
Caleb Lehman went 2-0f-3 at the plate, with two RBI and one triple.
Brett Vallorani pitched four innings, striking out six. The Cougars would pull off a 10-6 win over the Eagles in the second game. Jon Scarsella went 3-of-5 at the plate, with two runs, three RBI and one double.
Caleb Lehman was 3-of-5 at the plate as well, recording three RBI, one triple and one run. Vallorani pitched for the Cougars all seven innings, picking up six strikeouts.
Chatham split against the University of Valley Forge. The first game the Cougars came up short, falling 13-11.

Drew Brannon and Lehman each hit a homerun. In the second game, Chatham defeated Valley Forge 3-0.
On the final day of spring training, the Cougars went 0-2. Chatham lost 7-4 to John Jay College before falling 14-1 to New England College.
