Chatham swept by Pitt Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. – March 18, 2019 – The Chatham University baseball team resumed non-conference play this afternoon, falling twice to Pitt Greensburg (6-5 and 18-6). 
 
RECORDS: Chatham now sits at 3-7 overall heading into conference play. Pitt Greensburg moves to 3-9 overall. 

UP NEXT: Chatham hosts Saint Vincent on Saturday March 23rd, followed by a doubleheader at Saint Vincent Sunday. 
 
GAME ONE (Pitt Greensburg 6, Chatham 5, 11 innings)
 
AT THE PLATE: The Cougars pounded out 10 hits. Senior Paul Nussbaum went 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs. 
 
First-year Caleb Lehman and first-year Michael Nizinski went 3-for-4, with one RBI each. Nizinski hit a homerun. Sophomore Austin Andonisio went 1-for-2, with two RBI. 
 
ON THE MOUND: Senior righty Bryan Crawford pitched the first three frames, allowing two earned runs.
 
First-year Michael Nizinski tossed two innings, fanning four Bobcats.

Sophomore Ryan Shawley threw for three innings, striking out three. 

Junior Jake Sweeney pitched one inning. 

Junior Adam Cerar earned the loss for the Cougars on the mound.  
 
GAME TWO (Pitt Greensburg 18, Chatham 6)
 
AT THE PLATE: Chatham finished with six hits. Senior Paul Nussbaum earned one run and one RBI. Junior Drew Brannon went 1-for-2 at the plate, with one run and one RBI. First-year Bryce Goff hit a double with one RBI. Sophomore Anthony Cooper recorded one double and one RBI. 
 
ON THE MOUND: Senior Brett Vallorani suffered the defeat. 
 
Junior Jake Sweeney threw one inning, and first-year Erik Napolitano pitched the final two innings.
