PITTSBURGH, Pa. – FEBRUARY 19th, 2019 – The Chatham University men's basketball team won a nail biter against W&J 55-54 to advance to the PAC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday. This is the first time in program history the Cougars have not only hosted a PAC playoff game but have now won a PAC playoff game. With the win, Chatham improves to 17-9 overall. Chatham will travel to Latrobe, Pa. to take on the top-seeded Saint Vincent Bearcats on Thursday. Tip-off is slated for 7 pm.
Three Cougars scored in double figures to lead the team to victory. Senior
Marc Wells scored a team-high 15 points. Wells added eight rebounds and two blocks. He shot 6-for-6 from the floor. Senior

Will Sandherr each put up 13 points. Sandherr added five rebounds and two assists.
Anthony Bomar led the team with 10 rebounds. Bomar chipped in seven points and six assists. Junior
Buzz Walker recorded five points, two steals and two rebounds. Senior
Devin Stedman added three rebounds and one steal tonight.
At the end of the first half, Chatham held a 28-26 advantage. The second half saw four tied scores and two lead changes. With one minute remaining, the Cougars were down 51-47. Bomar would hit a jumper with 45 seconds to go, cutting the W&J lead to 51-49. Walker would tie the score with just over 30 seconds remaining with a stolen bucket. The Presidents answered back immediately with a three-pointer to pull ahead 54-51. Two made free throws by Sandherr put the score at 54-53 W&J. Sandherr would hit a layup for the final points of the game giving Chatham the 55-54 victory.
