PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Dec. 7, 2019 - Chatham (6-2,1-0) took on Waynesburg (0-7,0-1) on Saturday, December 7th in their second conference game of the season. Chatham was riding a six game winning streak into the matchup most recently taking down another conference foe, Westminster, on Wednesday, December 4th 81-75.
The Cougars clawed at the Yellow Jackets early in the first half, jumping out to a 13-2 lead after a three by junior Malik Potter. Chatham would stay out ahead of Waynesburg the rest of the half extending their lead to as many as 25 points. They would go into the half ahead 49-25 over the Yellow Jackets.
Chatham continued to dominate much of the second half, going up 51-33 after first year Garrett Farah's jump shot five minutes into the second half. First year Elijah Sutton would put the Cougars ahead 20 after a three of his own to make the score 62-42. As the final seconds ticked off the clock the Cougars found themselves on the winning end, extending their winning streak to six after taking down Waynesburg 78-56.
Grad student Will Sandherr was the leading scorer for the Cougars as he had 20, while Sutton scored a career high 15 points off the bench to go along with 5 rebounds.
The Cougars are back dropping dimes in the den on Wednesday, January 8th against Bethany College. They will travel to Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday, December 18th for their third conference game of the year.
