VALENCIA, Pa. – Dec. 6th, 2019 – The Chatham University men's hockey team falls short to Nazareth in a home conference matchup Friday evening 3-1.
RECORDS: With the loss, Chatham falls to 1-10-0 (1-5-0 UCHC) while Nazareth improves to 5-3-2 (4-2-1 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Utica at home Saturday, December 7th in a conference matchup. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM.
SCORING SUMMARY: Nazareth scored the first goal of the contest.
Nazareth scored another goal moments after a penalty kill against Chatham, increasing their lead against the Cougars 2-0 at the end of the first period.
Nazareth scored a goal to open the second period, leading the Cougars 3-0.
With three seconds remaining in the second period, Chatham scored thanks to
Cory King with an assist from
Blake Halfpenny.
The Cougars pulled their goalie with under two minutes remaining but couldn't find the back of the net and lose to Nazareth 3-1.
GOALTENDING: Ricardo Gonzalez suffered the loss tonight for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded 28 saves, including 13 in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: King and
Andrew Breda led the Chatham attack with four shots each on goal.
