PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Nov. 30, 2019 – The Chatham University men's hockey team falls short to Wisconsin-Superior in a home non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon 3-1.
RECORDS: With the loss, Chatham falls to 1-9-0 (1-4-0 UCHC) while Wisconsin-Superior improves to 5-1-0 (1-1-0 WIAC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Nazareth at home Friday, December 6th in a conference matchup. Puck drop is set for 7:10 p.m.
SCORING SUMMARY: Wisconsin-Superior scored the first goal of the contest.
Wisconsin-Superior would score again with minutes to spare in the first period, leading Chatham 2-1.
The Cougars scored eight minutes into the second period from
Niko Moulakelis, assisted by
Tristan Simm.
The Cougars had a chance to tie the game at 2 a piece when they were on a power-play but couldn't find the back of the net.
Wisconsin-Superior scored another goal in the third period, increasing their lead 3-1 over the Cougars.
The Cougars strategy was to pull their goalie which was short lived as they were assessed a penalty with under two minutes to go in regulation.
GOALTENDING: Ricardo Gonzalez suffered the loss tonight for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded 30 saves, including 12 in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Three Cougars led the Chatham attack with four shots each on goal.
FACE-OFFS: Cory King won a team best seven face offs.
