PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Nov, 25, 2019 - Chatham (4-0, 0-0) was back in action at the den Monday, November 25th against Mount Aloysius (1-3, 0-0) in their fifth game of the season. The Cougars were looking to extend their record setting start from four games to five.
Things started off slow for the Cougars, as they found themselves up only five points mid-way through the first quarter. After a Rachel Robinson jump shot, the Mounties pulled within two with two minutes to go until the second quarter. Mount Aloysius would tie the game up after two free throws by Robinson to go into the second quarter 15-15.
The Mounties would remain in the game throughout the second quarter, staying within six points through the first six minutes of the quarter. The Cougars would go into the break with a 10-point lead after ending the half on a 5-0 run. Chatham would pull away in the third quarter extending their lead to as much as 19 making the score 67-48.
Chatham would lead Mount Aloysius the rest of the fourth, winning the game by a final of 88-65 for their fifth win of the season. Junior Katie Fertig erupted for a career high 33 points going 12-19 from the field with 8 threes and grad student Emily Ondo added 24 points of her own.
Chatham takes on the Nittany Lions of Penn State Greater Allegheny Monday, December 2nd. They'll be back roaring in the den Wednesday, December 4th in their first conference matchup of the season as they'll take on the Westminster Titans.
