CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - Nov. 22, 2019 - Chatham (2-0, 0-0) traveled to Clarks Summit (2-1, 0-0) on Friday, November 22nd in their third game of the season. The Cougars came into the game riding a two game winning streak, most recently taking down Penn State Fayette 90-56.
The Cougars jumped out to a quick eight-point lead going up 12-4, three and a half minutes into the game. They would show no sign of slowing down, as they finished the quarter out on top 17-8. Sophomore Katie Fertig led the charge for the Cougars with 10 first quarter points.
The Defenders wouldn't back down, as they fought back to pull within two of Chatham with under four minutes until the half. The Cougars responded with a run of their own, as they would go into the break up 12, 31-19.
Clarks Summit struggled the rest of the game, going down as much as 25 points to the Cougars. Chatham would extend their winning streak to three after routing Clark Summit 80-57. Fertig led the Cougars with 21 points to go along with three steals. Three other Cougars found themselves in double digits as grad student Emily Ondo scored 16 and junior Sierra Ungermann pitched in 15 points of her own. First year Riley D'Angelo had 14 points herself to go along with 8 rebounds.
The Cougars are back dropping dimes in the den on Monday, November 25th at 7 PM against Mount Aloysius. Chatham will look to start the season 4-0 for the first time in program history.
