PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Nov. 20, 2019 - The Cougars (3-2, 0-0) came back to the den to take on Carlow (0-7, 0-0) on Wednesday, 11/20/19 after a weekend tournament at Hilbert College. Chatham went 1-1 at Hilbert, winning Saturday, November 16th against Cazenovia College 92-65 in the second day of the tournament.
Chatham jumped out to a quick lead, going ahead 9-0 early on in the first half. Carlow battled their way back pulling within five with nine minutes to go in the half. The Cougars would go up nine again after a three by first year Stef Rosich making the score 26-17 with under eight minutes until the break. They would stay on top of Carlow the rest of the half to go into the break up 37-33.
The second half opened up with a back and forth battle between both teams, with Carlow cutting the lead to as close as one. Chatham would pull away throughout the second half, extending their lead to as much as 17 points over the Celtics. Carlow would not back down, as they were able to cut the lead to four with two and half minutes left in the game. The Cougars were able to pull away towards the end and win their second straight game 82-74.
Senior Will Sandherr led the Cougars with 22 points and junior AJ Myers added 16 points of his own. First year Marcos Cintron pitched in 11 also as the Cougars added their third win of the season.
The Cougars are back at the den Saturday, November 23rd against Allegheny College.
