Cougars fall when Becker scores two empty netters in third period 5-2

PITTSBURGH, PA. – Nov. 2, 2019 – The Chatham University women's hockey team falls to Becker at Pittsburgh Ice Arena, 5-2.
 
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 1-1 while Becker improves to 1-1.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Lebanon Valley Saturday, November 9th at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:40 p.m.
 
SCORING SUMMARY: In the first period, the Cougars got on the scoreboard first thanks to Rylee Schumacher (first goal), unassisted.

Nearing the end of the first period, Becker answered and scored a power-play goal.

The second period was quiet for Chatham.

Becker scored a goal five minutes into the second period.

Becker scored a goal just twelve seconds into the third period. 

Chatham scored a goal in the third period from Holly Ackerman, thanks to assists from Sydney Collins and Grace Johnson.

Becker then scored two empty netters to secure the victory.

GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan suffered the loss for the Cougars making 54 saves, including 20 in the third period.
 
SHOTS LEADER: Kerry Carr led the Chatham attack with eight shots on goal.
 
FACEOFFS: Sydney Collins won 8 draws while Ackerman went 11-11 in the circle.
