Cougars tie in first conference matchup against Lebanon Valley 1-1

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA. – Nov. 9, 2019 – The Chatham University women's hockey team ties Lebanon Valley in a home opener conference matchup at Pittsburgh Ice Arena 1-1.

RECORDS: The Cougars record is now 1-1-1 (0-0-1 UCHC) while Lebanon Valleys record is 0-2-1 (0-0-1 UCHC).
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Alvernia on the road Friday, November 15th. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
 
SCORING SUMMARY: In the first period, the Cougars got on the scoreboard first on a power-play goal from Ashley Marchant thanks to an assist from Danielle Bos.

Lebanon Valley remained quiet in the first.

Both Chatham and Lebanon Valley were scoreless in the second period. Chatham had the 1-0 lead going into the final period of regulation.

With six minutes to go in the third period, Lebanon Valley scored and tied the game 1-1 forcing overtime play.

Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in overtime play, resulting in a final score of 1-1. 

GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan had the tie for the Cougars making 30 saves, including 11 in the second period.
 
SHOTS LEADER: Three Cougars led the Chatham attack with six shots on goal each.
 
FACEOFFS: Holly Ackerman won 16 draws while Sydney Collins went 12-7 in the circle.
