Reisterstown, Md. – Nov. 16, 2019 – The Chatham University women's hockey team went 1-1 this weekend on the road with a loss to Stevenson 5-2.
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 2-3-1 (1-2-1 UCHC) while Stevenson improves to 4-2-1 (3-2-0 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Neumann at Pittsburgh Ice Arena Friday, November 22nd. Puck drop is set for 6:40 p.m.
SCORING SUMMARY: Stevenson scored the first goal of the contest.
Stevenson scored a power-play goal five minutes later making the score 2-0.
Stevenson then scored another power-play goal in the first period, ending the first with a 3-0 lead.
Nearing the halfway mark of the second period,
Grace Johnson scored for your Cougars with an assist from
Maddie Black.
Stevenson then scored just moments later making the score 4-1 at the end of the second period.
Holly Ackerman scored for your Cougars with an assist from
Kerry Carr, inching closer to the lead 4-2.
Chatham then pulled their goalie to try and claw their way back into the game.
Stevenson scored an empty-net goal with an extra attacker vanquishing the Cougars hope for a weekend sweep.
At the end of regulation the final score was 5-2 Stevenson.
GOALTENDING: Katy Reed suffered the loss for the Cougars making 21 saves including eight in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Black led the Chatham attack with six shots on net.
FACEOFFS: Ackerman
won nine draws while
Sydney Collins went 7-9 in the circle.
