Cougars secure win against King's at home for first conference win of season 5-2

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Nov. 15, 2019 – The Cougars secured the win against King's for the first conference win of the season 5-2.

RECORDS: With the win, Chatham improves to 1-4-0 (1-1-0 UCHC) overall while King's falls to 1-3-0 (1-3-0 UCHC) overall.

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Wilkes Saturday, November 16th in a conference matchup at Frozen Pond Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:10 p.m.

SCORING SUMMARY: King's had the first goal of the matchup.

Chatham answered and scored seven minutes later thanks to Niko Moulakelis, tying the game 1-1 at the end of the first period.

Ten seconds into the second period, Tristan Simm scores for the Cougars with assists from Michael Lamison and Lucas Rothe.

Halfway through the second period, Kenny Gill scores his first career NCAA goal with an assist from Blake Halfpenny making the score 3-1 heading into the third period.

King's scores the first goal in the third period, now making the score 3-2.

Simm scores his second goal of the night towards the end of the third period, giving Chatham a 4-2 cushion.

Jack Schmiedlin scores an empty-netter and his first career NCAA goal with seventeen seconds to go in regulation making the final score 5-2.

GOALTENDING: Ricardo Gonzalez secured the victory tonight for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded 18 saves, including 10 in the third period.

SHOTS LEADER: Andrew Breda led the Cougar attack with six shots on goal.
 
FACE-OFFS: Cory King  won a team best 12 face-offs. Tristan Hillebert won eight draws in the circle.
