PITTSBURGH, Pa. - October 29th, 2019 -- The Cougars (4-9-3, 1-4-2) made their way up to Thiel (0-13-2, 0-6-0) to face the Tomcats in a late season conference matchup. Chatham was looking to rebound after a tough 4-1 lose to Grove City Saturday, October 19th.
Thiel started things off with a goal in the 16th minute of the first half by Andreas Jonassen. The Cougars outshot the Tomcats 10 to 3 in the first half but were unable to get on the scoreboard, as they trailed 1-0 at the half.
The Cougars continued to fight their way back into the match, as they would tie the score up off a goal by first year Leandro Nasso in the 79th minute. As time ticked down, neither the Cougars nor the Tomcats were able to score, forcing an extra period.
Chatham didn't waste any time, as they were able to find the back of the net within the first few minutes of overtime. This win marked the Cougars first ever conference win in program history. First year Kan Kamada scored the game winner in the 91st minute of the match.
The Cougars close out their season with a home matchup on senior day this Saturday, November 2nd at Ellis Field against Bethany College at 2;30 PM.
