Cougars falter to Wolverines 3-2 in double overtime

GROVE CITY, PA - October 19th, 2019 - The Chatham University women's soccer team faced Grove City College in a PAC matchup this afternoon. The Cougars forced a double overtime but ultimately fell 3-2 to the Wolverines. .

THE RUNDOWN
Chatham (5-5-4, 2-1-2) faced Grove City (7-6-2, 4-1-0) this weekend in a conference matchup. The Cougars were looking to add a third win to their conference record following a 3-1 victory at Geneva. 

THE GIST OF IT
The Wolverines jumped ahead in the 32nd minute of the game. Chatham picked up back to back goals early in the second half to take the lead. Victoria Vernail scored unassisted. Paxton Steffy scored next, assisted by Morgan Anderson. With under fifteen minutes left in regulation, Grove City tied things up with a penalty kick goal. The Cougars held the Wolverines off through both overtimes until the final thirty seconds when Grove City found the back of the net. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars are back in a home matchup at Ellis Field against Westminster October 23rd at 7:30 pm.
