Cougars open up 2019 with 5-2 loss to Trine

PITTSBURGH, PA. – Jan. 4th, 2019 – The Chatham University women's hockey team fell to Trine this evening 5-2. 
 
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 3-11-0 while the Thunder improves to 6-4-1. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham hosts Trine Saturday at 4 pm.
 
SCORING SUMMARY: Trine was first on the board with a goal at 9:47. 

Senior Jillian Rowland scored the first goal for Chatham at 4:38 in the second period on a power play goal. Rowland was assisted by senior Kristina Block

Trine answered back with a power play of their own to finish out the second period. 

The Cougars kicked off the third period with a goal by Dahea Chung at 2:33, thanks to an assists from Michelle Jones and Holly Ackerman

Trine scored three goals to finish the game off. 

GOALTENDING: Freshman Theresa Schrenk suffered the loss in the net for the Cougars. She made 17 saves. 
 
SHOTS LEADER: Senior Jillian Rowland led the Chatham attack with seven shots on goal.
 
FACEOFFS: Sophomore Sydney Collins won 10 face-offs.
