PITTSBURGH, PA – Jan. 26, 2019 – Chatham men's hockey team hands loss to Kings in a shutout Saturday evening 4-0.
RECORDS: With the win, Chatham improves to 5-12-2 overall, 3-8-1 UCHC while Kings fall to 1-19-0 overall, 1-12-0 UCHC.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham continues conference play Friday, February 1st as they face Manhattanville on the road. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham had a strong start in the first period, scoring two goals.
Cory King scored the first goal of the contest at 04:05, assisted by
Mitch Popp and
Andrew Breda. The second goal was scored at 13:23 by
Dan Bellafiore thanks to assists from
Michael Lamison and
Chris Lutz.
In the second period, Chatham scored two more goals, making their lead 4-0 over Kings. The first goal of the period happened at 12:56 from
Tristan Simm with assists from
Kirk Underwood and
Noah Medalsy. The second goal was a power play goal scored by Lamison with assists from Simm and
Matthew Ho.
The third period was quiet for both Chatham and the Lions.
GOALTENDING: Ricardo Gonzalez earned the shutout win tonight for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded 29 saves, including 11 in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Simm
led the Cougar attack with five shots on goal. Two Cougars added four shots on net.
FACE-OFFS: King won a team best nine face-offs in the circle.
