PITTSBURGH, PA. – Nov. 17, 2018 – The Chatham University women's hockey team defeated Kings on the road Friday evening 5-0.
RECORDS: With the victory, Chatham moves to 6-13-0 overall, 3-9-0 UCHC while Kings falls to 1-16-0 overall, 0-11-0 UCHC.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Kings on the road Saturday, January 26th. Puck drop is set for 2:00 pm.
SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham scored two goals in the first period.
Danielle Bos scored the first goal of the contest for the Cougars, also a power-play goal, at 05:28 thanks to assists from
Kristina Block and
Jillian Rowland. The other Cougar goal in the first period was scored by Rowland, assisted by Block and
Kerry Carr.
In the second period, the Cougars scored one goal. The goal was scored just 20 seconds into the period by
Sydney Collins assisted by Block and
Jennie Piotrzkowski. The assist from Block resulted in her 50th career point.
Chatham scores two goals in the third period to finish off the conference matchup. The Cougars scored at 11:56 thanks to Carr with an assist from Rowland. The second Chatham goal of the period was a power-play goal scored by
Madison Black, thanks to an assist from
Ashley Marchant.
GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan secured the victory for the Cougars making 27 saves, including 14 in the second period. Today marks her first career shutout.
SHOTS LEADER: Rowland led the Cougar attack with 14 shots on goal. Collins recorded 9 shots on goal.
FACEOFFS: Collins won a team best 18 draws in the circle. Black went 5-9 in the circle.
