Box Score 2 GROVE CITY, PA – April 9, 2018 – Playing through snow showers for both games on Monday, the Chatham University baseball team dropped a doubleheader at PAC opponent Grove City, falling 4-2 in the opener and 8-0 in game two at R.J. Behringer Field.
RECORDS: Chatham drops to 7-14 (0-8 PAC) while Grove City evens out at 9-9 (3-1 PAC).
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars head to W&J on Saturday, April 14 in a PAC doubleheader starting at 1 pm.
GAME ONE (Grove City 4, Chatham 2)
AT THE PLATE: The Cougars were limited to just four hits as sophomore designated hitter
Justin Silvious (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Junior outfielder
Brett Vallorani (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and first-year pinch hitter
Andrew Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton) collected the other Chatham base knocks.
ON THE MOUND: Sophomore righty
Connor Paul (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) earned the start and struck out four in five innings, giving up just one earned run in the defeat.
Junior right-hander
Bryan Crawford (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) pitched the final three frames, allowing one run while striking out two.
GAME TWO (Grove City 8, Chatham 0)
AT THE PLATE: Chatham tallied three hits as senior first baseman
Carmen Jansante (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), sophomore third baseman
Cameron Moeller (Blacklick, Ohio/Licking Heights) and sophomore second baseman George Cedeno (Passaic, N.J./Passaic) all collected base knocks.
