Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, PA – April 28, 2018 – The Chatham University baseball program earned its first-ever Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory on Saturday against Westminster, falling in game one 5-1 before taking game two, 4-2.
RECORDS: Chatham improves to 8-21 (1-15 PAC) while Westminster moves to 14-12 (8-8 PAC).
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars will conclude the 2018 regular season at Bethany on Saturday, May 5 in a PAC doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the DH, the team's four senior members were honored:
Austin Ferris (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin),
Nick Ramsey (Bradenton, Fla./Palmetto),
Carmen Jansante (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and
Landon Faraoni (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour).
GAME ONE (Westminster 5, Chatham 1)
AT THE PLATE: The Cougars accrued seven hits as sophomore
Hunter Steele (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) and sophomore
Cameron Moeller (Blacklick, Ohio/Licking Heights) both finished 2-for-4, with Moeller enjoying a run-scoring triple to right in the eighth.
ON THE MOUND: Sophomore
Adam Cerar (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) earned the starting bid and suffered the loss, logging 6 1/3 innings with one strikeout. Sophomore
Connor Paul (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) pitched 2 2/3 frames in relief.
GAME TWO (Chatham 4, Westminster 2)
AT THE PLATE: Chatham plated three runs in the bottom of the first as sophomore
Justin Silvious Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) went 2-for-3 and junior
Brett Vallorani (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) finished 1-for-4 with a two-run single.
ON THE MOUND: First-year
Austin Andonisio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) pitched a complete-game gem, going all nine innings, needing 120 pitches, while striking out three Titans and walking just one, for his first career win.
