Chatham Baseball Takes Two From Valley Forge

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - March 7, 2018 – The Chatham University baseball team enjoyed a doubleheader sweep of Valley Forge on Wednesday evening, defeating the Patriots 12-1 in game one and 9-3 in the night cap.

RECORDS: Chatham improves to 4-3 while Valley Forge falls to 1-9.

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will play New England College and Dean tomorrow at 3 pm & 6:30 pm.

GAME ONE: Junior right-hander Brett Vallorani (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) tossed all seven frames for the complete game victory, scattering six hits while striking out four on 99 pitches.

Sophomore outfielder Drew Brannon (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and one RBI and finished a home run shy of the cycle.

First-year outfielder Andrew Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton) finished 2-for-3, first-year third baseman Ryan Shawley (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) drove in two runs and sophomore shortstop George Cedeno, Jr. (Passaic, N.J./Passaic) went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

GAME TWO: Junior designated hitter James Bolander (Fairmont, W.V./East Fairmont) finished 3-for-4 with four RBI and sophomore infielder Cameron Moeller (Blacklick, Ohio/Licking Heights) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.

Senior first baseman Carmen Jansante (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) went 2-for-2 with two RBI while sophomore lefty Meier Parr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) tossed four frames for the win. Sophomore righty Jake Sweeney (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) threw the final three innings without surrendering a run.
