Baseball Drops 8-5 Decision to PSU Schuylkill

Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - March 4, 2018 – Despite trailing 8-0, the Chatham University baseball team battled back but fell short to Penn State Schuylkill 8-5 on Sunday evening in the opening game of Spring Break at the Ripken Experience.

RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 0-2 while the Lions improved to 3-0.

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will play a pair of games tomorrow, first against Penn College at 12 pm followed by a 7 pm contest with PSU Harrisburg.

AT THE PLATE: The Cougars managed four hits, including an RBI double and triple from senior first baseman Carmen Jansante (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park).

First-years Andrew Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carlynton) and Ryan Shawley (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) also collected RBI doubles in the seventh.

ON THE MOUND: Sophomore righty Connor Paul (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) suffered the defeat in the start while junior James Bolander (Fairmont, W.V./East Fairmont), junior Bryan Crawford (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) and first-year Austin Andonisio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) all appeared out of the bullpen.
