Chatham Edges Mount Union 8-7

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – MARCH 17th, 2018 – The Cougars defeated nonconference foe Mount Union 8-7.  
 
THE SHORT STORY
Chatham was first to find the back of the net just over one minute into the first quarter thanks to Will Petraglia. The Raiders would answer back with a goal 45 seconds later. After the first quarter, Chatham was one goal up on Mount Union. In the second quarter, Mount Union scored once to tie the game headed into halftime. The third quarter would see seven goals giving the Raiders a 6-5 edge. Chatham would take control of the game in the fourth quarter scoring three goals to give the Cougars the win.
 
KEY COUGARS
Will Petraglia and Adam Bleess each helped the Cougars to victory with two goals apiece. Daniel Napier, Kyle Prewitt, Tyler Hayes and Dillon Dugan all tallied one goal. Napier, Matthew Ho, Kyle Peterson, and Ben Neal registered five groundballs. Alec Vissotski added four groundballs. Peterson was in the net for the entire 60 minutes. He made 12 saves with seven shots against.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
