Chatham takes down Grove City 58-55

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – DECEMBER 8th, 2018 – The Chatham University men's basketball team defeated the Wolverines of Grove City 58-55 off a final second three pointer from senior Will Sandherr. With the win, the Cougars improve to 5-3 overall, 2-2 PAC. 

Senior Alex Schoppen put up 23 points, including shooting 8-of-9 from the free throw line, to secure the win for the Cougars. Sandherr hit the game winning three pointer, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds and three steals. Senior Isaiah Brown picked up nine points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Senior Marc Wells chipped in six points, five rebounds and two blocks. Senior Devin Stedman grabbed five rebounds. Senior Anthony Bomar recorded a team-high seven assists, with two steals. 

The game was a battle the entire forty minutes. The first half saw three lead changes and four tied scores. There was never more than a five point margin. In the second half, the Cougars would jump out ahead to lead by 10 with 18 minutes remaining. The Wolverines would close the gap bu would not be able to maintain the lead. Chatham notched 18 points off of 17 forced Wolverine turnovers.
