PITTSBURGH, PA. – Nov. 17, 2018 – The Chatham University women's hockey team defeated Wilkes 5-0 this afternoon in the Alumni Appreciation game.
RECORDS: With the victory, Chatham moves to 2-5 overall, 2-3 UCHC while Wilkes falls to 0-6 overall, 0-4 UCHC.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham hosts Aurora on November 24th at Frozen Pond Arena. Puck drops at 7pm.
SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham scored two goals in the first period. Sophomore
Sydney Collins scored the first goal of the contest for the Cougars at 08:36, thanks to an assist from senior
Kristina Block. The Cougars would score one more in the first period by Block, assisted by junior captain
Madison Black and Collins.
The second period again, Chatham scored two goals. The first goal happening at 08:36 by senior
Jillian Rowland, unassisted. Block netted the second goal, assisted by Rowland and freshman
Kerry Carr.
Rowland scored a power-play goal in the third, thanks to assists by Black and Collins.
GOALTENDING: Katy Reed secured the victory for the Cougars making 12 saves, including five in the second period. Today marks her first career win and first career shutout.
SHOTS LEADER: Rowland led the Chatham attack with 10 shots on goal. Block added six shots and senior
Michelle Jones chipped in five.
