Chatham defeats Franciscan 93-56

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – JANUARY 24th, 2018 – The Chatham Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated Franciscan 93-56.  

RELAYS: The Cougar quartet of Samantha Ream, Iris Marzolf, Jade Marzolf and Paige Garase won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.71. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Carlie Klanica, Christine Mikita, Paige Garase and Mallory Marzolf finished with a time of 1:51.68.

FREESTYLE: In the 1000 yard freestyle, Christine Mikita placed first with a time of 11:04.56. Carlie Klanica earned second in the 1000 yard freestyle. The Cougars were the first three to finish in the 200 yard freestyle. Samantha Ream placed first with a time of 2:07.98, followed by Gwyneth Curbishley and Maggie Susa. In the 50 yard freestyle, Jade Marzolf clocked in at 26.64 for a first place finished followed by Paige Garase. Iris Marzolf won the 100 yard freestyle touching in at 57.60. Carlie Klanica and Maggie Susa finished second and third respectively. In the 500 yard freestyle, Jade Marzolf stopped the clock at 5:35.89.

BACKSTROKE:  Christine Mikita earned a 1:07.54 finish in the 100 yard backstroke.

BREASTSTROKE: Samantha Ream touched the wall at 1:16.45 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

IM: In the 200 IM, Mallory Marzolf tallied a first place finish with a time of 2:15.30. Iris Marzolf recorded second in the 200 IM.

BUTTERFLY: Mallory Marzolf swam the 100 yard butterfly in 59.52.

WHAT'S NEXT: On February 3rd, Chatham hosts Grove City, Bethany and W&J for Senior Day at 11 am.
