LATROBE, Pa. – JANUARY 19th, 2018 – The Chatham Women's Swimming and Diving team competed in a dual meet at Saint Vincent College for their first competition of the new year. The Cougars fell to the Bearcats 125-108.
RELAYS: The relay team made up of
Mallory Marzolf,
Samantha Ream,
Jade Marzolf and
Iris Marzolf finished second in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:56.31. The Cougar quartet of
Christine Mikita,
Iris Marzolf,
Paige Garase and
Samantha Ream earned a time of 1:47.52 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
FREESTYLE: Christine Mikita swam the 1650 yard freestyle in 18:26.80 for a second place finish.
Mallory Marzolf earned a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.67. Marzolf's time broke the Chatham program record.
Christine Mikita finished third in the same race with a time of 25.91. In the 100 yard freestyle,
Jade Marzolf touched the wall second at 58.03. Mikita reached the wall at 5:23.47 in the 500 yard freestyle for a first place finish.
BACKSTROKE: Mallory Marzolf won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.15. Marzolf took first in the 200 yard backstroke as well with a time of 2:12.00.
BREASTSTROKE: In the 100 yard breaststroke,
Iris Marzolf touched in third with a time of 1:12.04. Marzolf took third again in the 200 yard breaststroke touching in at 2:37.00.
IM: In the 400 yard IM
Samantha Ream clocked in at 5:01.37.
BUTTERFLY: Jade Marzolf stopped the clock at 2:25.05 for a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly. Marzolf finished with a time of 1:03.71 in the 100 yard butterfly. Maggie Susa took touched in at 1:23.60 in the same race.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars are back in the pool January 24
th when they host Franciscan and Juniata at 6 pm.
