Cougars Stumble at Westminster

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Pittsburgh, PA – The Chatham University women's volleyball team travelled to Westminster College on Saturday morning to particiapte in a PAC tri-match. The Cougars would drop both matches to conference foes Westminster and Saint Vincent College.

In the first match, Chatham would fall to Westminster 0-3. The Cougar defense was strong as sophomore outside Heathir McIntyre and first year setter McKenna Gamble had five digs apiece, while  senior outside hitter Britanny DeMeno chipped in with four. McIntyre also registered three kills, but the Titan's serving proved to be too much for the Cougars in the end.

Chatham started strong in the second match against Saint Vincent College. The Cougarse kept the first set close, as senior middle hitter Aminata Dieng registered six digs. McIntyre continued to impress, leading the way with five kills and six digs of her own. The Bearcats would win 0-3, despite the gritty defensive performance from the Cougar players.

"I think we got a lot of balls up on defense throughout the day in both matches", said Chatham head coach, Marc Eberle. "I'm not sure the stats reflect how well we actually played on defense today."

The Cougars will return to action next week when they visit Carlow University on Tuesday, September 30th.
