Chatham Defeats Bethany, Falls to Saint Vincent

PITTSBURGH, PA- The Chatham University swimming & diving team swam to a 131-99 victory over Bethany College, but fell 79-168 to Saint Vincent College in the double-dual meet on Saturday afternoon at the Cougar Natatorium.

For the Cougars, Melissa Puskar (Fy., Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) claimed second place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:41.66 and snagged third place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.56.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Puskar, Lizzie Keller (Fy., Venetia, PA/Peters Twp.), Claudia Smith (Fy., Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington), and Brianna Britos-Swain (Sr., Preston, CT/Norwich Free Academy) was seven seconds away from grabbing first place against Bethany, finishing with a time of 1:54.74.

The Cougars return to the pool on January 25 and 26 for the Vulcan Dual Meet Challenge at California (PA) University. The Cougars will take their marks at 5:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am on Saturday.
