The 2025-26 school year will be Aaron McKinney’s first year at Chatham University and his first year as an athletic trainer. Prior to arriving at Chatham, Aaron spent the last seven years as a head wrestling coach in the area. He coached West Allegheny High School for four years and Waynesburg University for three years. He also served as head strength and conditioning coach and assistant football coach at West Allegheny. Aaron is also a US Army Reserves military police officer.

“He is a jack of all trades, and we are so excited to have him!” says Head Athletic Trainer Samantha Powell.

Aaron received his undergraduate degree in fitness management from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree in athletic training from Waynesburg University. While at Lock Haven, he was a 5-year member and 4-year starter for their varsity men’s wrestling team. Growing up, Aaron was a tri-sport athlete successfully participating in wrestling, football, and baseball.

Aaron currently resides in Oakdale, PA with his wife Haley and his two children Miles and Brynn.
