Morgan Comport

Morgan Comport is entering her first year as the Cougar’s Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach for the 2022-2023 season. Comport comes to Shadyside a three-year Assistant Coaching position at Division II Seton Hill University (SHU). Comport also helped coach the Griffins during the 2014-2016 seasons as a graduate assistant. While coaching at SHU, she was responsible for developing practice plans and game strategies, film and statistical analytics, player development, monitoring player academics, and all aspects of recruiting.

Comport’s guidance helped the Griffins to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West championship title in both 2021 and 2022 and two NCAA tournament appearances. Over her six years of Comport with the Griffins; nearly twenty players were selected for All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference achievements and several student-athletes earned All-Academic Team designations under her mentorship.

Beyond SHU, Comport comes to Chatham with additional coaching experience from her Head Coach position and Director at Mountain State Lacrosse (WV). Comport helped establish the first travel lacrosse program in the Mountain State. While recruiting and preparing her players for competition in premier tournaments, Comport saw to their athletic development both individually and as a team. On top of success on the field, she helped prepare her players for the recruiting process as they began their college search process as prospective student-athletes.

As a collegiate player, Comport was a dominant attacker and leader at Seton Hill. A two-year team captain, Comport earned multiple athletic awards, including the East Coach Conference Attacker (2010-2012), a Second Team Lacrosse Magazine All-American (2011), and a North-South All-Star. While starting every game of her collegiate career, she amassed 243 career points (178 goals and 65 assists).

Comport graduated in 2016 with her Masters degree in Family Therapy from Seton Hill University and also obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minors in Biology and Sociology in 2013, having earned All-Academic Team status.

Coach Comport and her husband Brad reside in the Pittsburgh area with their daughter Emerson.
