Kozel joins the Cougars following an impressive 4 year playing career as a goaltender at Penn State. In addition to her playing career, the Pittsburgh native worked as an Off-Ice Official for the Penn State NCAA Men's Hockey team and as a student operations manager for their NCAA Men's Lacrosse team. Kozel's time at Penn State also facilitated the capacity to intern with European hockey coaches who traveled across the United States to promote hockey skills and goaltending training. After graduating with an RPTM degree with minors in business, sports, and event planning and management, Kozel operated and coached numerous programs in the Pittsburgh area. She has been coaching the Goalie Academy, Pens Elite, and Private lessons. Currently, Kozel is pursuing a master's in Sports Management with a focus in Business and Law from Georgetown University.Â
"I am excited to have Ella join our staff," said Head Women's Hockey Coach Mike O'Grady. "I know she will be a huge asset to our goaltenders in helping develop and mentor them." Â
