Deanna Tritinger

Deanna Tritinger, who brings with her a wealth of coaching experience from the Pittsburgh area, begins her seventh season in 2022-23. "Deanna comes with a lot of enthusiasm and energy, she knows the area well and is exactly the right fit for us," said Athletic Director Leonard Trevino. Tritinger had been the assistant coach at La Roche College from 2015 to 2016. While at La Roche she was responsible for assisting the head coach with the development of the team, performing various recruiting tasks, creating schedules for the student athletes, organizing fundraising events and more. Outside of La Roche, Tritinger was a coach for Pittsburgh Power Softball, an Independent Batting Coach, and an Independent Pitching Coach. Through this involvement, she was able to develop well-rounded athletes with strong moral values and community interests. Tritinger is sure to always encourage good sportsmanship for all teams which includes multiple championship teams. Tritinger currently coaches at Passion Softball. Tritinger is very invested in the community here in Pittsburgh. On top of all of the coaching she has done, she has been an umpire for the Greater Pittsburgh Girls Softball League for over sixteen years. She has also volunteered for local organizations such as Hearth Women's Shelter, Operation Homeless, and Providence Heights Child Care. "I am very excited to begin my coaching career at Chatham, I look forward to growing the softball program. I would like to thank Athletic Director Leonard Trevino for giving me this amazing opportunity to continue coaching here in Pittsburgh," said Tritinger when she arrived on campus today. Aside from her coaching experience, Tritinger was a member of  the La Roche College softball team for four years. She was a pitcher for the team and had multiple no hitters. Tritinger also was a designative hitter ending her four-year career with a batting average of .369. Tritinger graduated from La Roche in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Management. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015. Tritinger has previously served on the NCAA Division III Softball Rules Committee as the Chair. The duties of the NCAA Rules Committee are to establish and maintain rules of play consistent with the tradition of the sport and of such character as to ensure good sportsmanship and safe participation by the competitors. In addition, Tritinger served as the President’s Athletic Conference’s Regional Advisory Committee member from 2018-2021.
