Eden Bloom is entering her third year as Head Coach of the Cross Country & Track and Field programs. During her tenure as Head Coach, she has helped see the program through record setting seasons.
Throughout the 2022-23 seasons, the Cougars broke 11 Indoor Track & Field School Records, and a pair of Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) records in the Women’s 4x400m Relay and Women’s Triple Jump. The team carried this momentum into the outdoor season where an additional 20 School Records were broken between the programs. The women’s team scored the most ever points in school history at PAC Championships where they won 7/19 events contested and swept all of the meet awards. Sophomore Aurielle Brunner was awarded Field Athlete of the Year, and Overall Athlete of the Year while graduate student, Carlee Domke, was awarded Track Athlete of the Year. Five events across three athletes were awarded USTFCCCA All-Region honors at the conclusion of the track season (Brunner - TJ, LJ, HJ, Domke - 400H, Erwin - 10K).
Brunner & Domke went on to become Chatham’s first ever NCAA qualifiers in track & field. Brunner qualified in all three jumps (long, triple and high) while Domke punched her ticket in the 400m hurdles. Brunner claimed two All-American titles at NCAA Championships for her 4th place finish in Triple Jump and her 5th place finish in Long Jump. The two hold 18 school records and 3 PAC records.Â
In her inaugural season (2021-22), the Cougars broke 21 school records and two PAC records. The team boasted 4 individual titles last year, and a number of other podium finishes.Â
Prior to being named Head Coach, she spent two years here as an assistant coach responsible for the jumpers and the strength training for the country and track & field programs. As an assistant, she coached a PAC Champion in Men’s Triple Jump - the first individual title for the men’s track and field program.Â
