The 2022-23 academic year will be Becca's seventh year as an Athletic Trainer at Chatham University.
Becca's primary team responsibilities include men's soccer, men's ice hockey, softball, and cross country/track & field. In addition to her sports medicine responsibilities, Becca also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the exercise science and athletic training departments; additionally, she supervises the practicum placement in the athletics department for some of our counseling center interns. Prior to her time at Chatham, Becca worked at Millersville University while completing her graduate degree and also served on the medical staff for the Philadelphia Soul, a member of the Arena Football League.
As a member of the UPMC Sports Medicine department, Becca also works with hockey teams of all ages and abilities among other special event coverages in the Pittsburgh area, serves as the committee leader for staff engagement, conducts peer interviews for potential employees, and consistently serves as a mentor for new hires.
Becca earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh (2014), her M. Ed. in Sport Management from Millersville University (2016) and her PhD in Higher Education Administration from Liberty University (2021) with a focus on student-athlete retention.
Outside of work, Becca also serves as the Chairperson for the Dayna Brons Memorial Scholarship. She lives in Butler County with her husband Tom, daughter Parker, and dog Burley; they enjoy exploring different playgrounds and finding the area's best mac & cheese, beers, and french fries.
